On Thursday 10/27, Scott H Bouwer and David W Bowen delivered a seminar on: JMR Main Rotor Gearbox: Leveraging Geometry Optimization Tools to Reduce Component Weight, Development Cost, and Design Schedule.
Scott H Bouwer, an MS from RPI, is a Drive System Design Engineer for Boeing Phantom Works and is currently working on the JMR program. Scott has contributed to the development of several advanced transmission configurations, holds 4 US patents, and was recently awarded 2015 Boeing Phantom Works Engineer of the Year for his work with topology optimization.
David W Bowen, an MS from Rowan, is a Structural Analyst at Boeing’s Philadelphia Design Center. David is an expert in finite element analysis, struc-tural optimization, and process automation. He is currently working multiple programs including JMR, CST-100, and 737; functions as the site Hyper-Works focal; and is part of enterprise FEATEC organization.
This was a captivating talk that provided members an opportunity to lean something new and relevant.
