Teresa Hamilton is a Lecturer in the English Department and teaches first year writing and advanced writing courses. She earned her bachelor of arts degree in Mass Communications (Print Journalism emphasis) from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (HBCU) and a master of science degree in News-editorial Journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Other graduate work in 20th Century American Literature and a secondary teaching certificate (English) was completed at Eastern Illinois University. Watching students examine rhetoric around them and establishing their roles in communities was fascinating in the RCL course. Outside of teaching writing, Teresa enjoys narrative storytelling and hanging with family listening to stories from griots.
