Outreach Committee
This committee reports to the Secretary. The duties are to coordinate PSEOP activities, as well as have PSEOP members become involved with community activities such as WPSU pledge drives, food drives, Relay for Life, etc. Serve as a liaison to Commonwealth Colleges. Promote PSEOP via Newswire. Send communications of concern, appreciation, recognition, and encouragement, etc. to members. Announce event information on Facebook page. Send announcement information to the Secretary to be posted on PSEOP list serv. ONLY PSEOP sponsored events and information can be posted to Facebook and list.serv. Committee Chairs should have at least one year of committee experience. End-of-year committee reports will be provided to each new chair at the beginning of the year so they have knowledge of previous committee activity.
Commonwealth Campuses
Connect with Commonwealth Campuses to coordinate visits from the Exec Committee. (1-2 visits per year). Reach out to HR Directors and/or USAC Presidents at the campuses to make a connection with staff. Goal is to find interest in campus staff to hear about PSEOP and possibly have campuses start their own PSEOP group.
Community
Get members involved in campus events and/or public and community events such as food drives, holiday drives, etc.
Communications of Concern, Appreciation, Recognition, and Encouragement
Send communications of concern, appreciation, recognition, and encouragement, etc. to members. This is called C.A.R.E. The purpose is to provide encouragement, congratulations or some extra care and concern when needed to members. We depend on our members to keep us informed of fellow members (or themselves) who are celebrating a promotion, award, or good news. Send cards or acknowledgements for such things as promotions, retirements, congratulations, sympathy, etc. Cards are signed by the Outreach Committee on behalf of PSEOP members.
The committee also can send things during special times such as Administrative Professionals Day, Valentine’s Day, etc.
