2009 NASA/LARSS Internship
A recent Lehigh University graduate, Mallory Snowden received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aeronautical Engineering in May 2011. Prior to Mallory’s graduation, she had multiple job offers with engineering firms in San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. Mallory took part in a 2009 NASA/LARSS summer internship. “The Space Grant Program inspired my interest in Material Science, as well as aerospace research and development in general,” she said. Mallory’s NASA internship project was located in the Research and Technology Directorate and her project included performing experimental measurement and modeling using Matlab, and the fabrication of composite parts. She is currently an Aerospace Engineer at Blue Origin, a company that is developing technologies to enable private human access to space with the goal of dramatically lower cost and increased reliability.
