2014 CubeSat at Drexel Space Systems Laboratory

Tirthak Saha is a recent graduate of Drexel University, with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. In 2014, he received funding from the PSGC while working on an Origami based Solar Array for CubeSats at Drexel. The goal of this project was to develop a small scale and modular solar array, based on the mathematics of Origami folds, capable of launching with and operating on a CubeSat of standard dimensions.
He is currently working on methods to modernize the Mid-West’s electric grid with American Electric Power and conducting research into sustainable utility scale energy storage and solar power systems.
“Working with P.S.G.C was a transformative experience to say the least. It is a wonderful program that gave me real life research experience at the highest levels and helped me forge connections in my industry that I will be utilizing throughout my career.” -Tirthak Saha
