Events

In addition to offering tours of Penn State, the Lion Ambassadors also run events during the fall and spring that furthers their mission to the University. Through these events, the Lion Ambassadors hope to communicate Penn State’s history, strengthen her traditions, and instill Penn State pride in current and future students, alumni, and friends. Please explore the project descriptions below. We hope to see you at one of our events!

Ghost Tours

During the Fall of 2013, the first ever Campus Ghost Tour Event was introduced.  The event offers students, faculty, and staff the unique opportunity to get a fun haunting in at parts of campus such as Olmsted Building, Science & Tech Building, and Vartan Plaza, as well as tour historic parts of the campus including Meade Heights, Wirsberg Hall, and the Heat Plant.

This interactive event brings the campus together while learning more about the history and traditions of Penn State Harrisburg.  Keep checking back for more info!

Penn State Harrisburg All-Nighter

The Penn State Harrisburg All-Nighter was started in 2009 by the Lion Ambassadors.  It serves as a way to help raise the total funds raised by the campus for Penn State Harrisburg Benefitting THON.  The event has included a casino night, dodge ball tournament, human foosball, caricature photos, photo booth, laser tag arena, great food, and a night full of friendship.  The first PAN had 30 people in attendance and raised just over a thousand dollars, a booming record for the first year the event took place. In 2018, PAN raised over $1,100 for THON and was themed “Jurassic Safari”. The event won Best Event of the Year on campus. There was carnival games, giveaways of t-shirts, tumblers, bags, a bouncy house, mechanical bulls, food, and more. In 2020, PAN won Best Event of the Year. After a year break, 2022 PAN was a carnival to remember.

Day of ServiceLion Ambassadors--Day of Service 4

Lion Ambassadors spend a high volume of hours volunteering with local communities and organizations. One of our goals as an organization is to help build a closer connection through service with the local community.  We have done numerous projects like cleaning windows, package donated food at a local food bank, spending time with residents at nursing homes, and picking up trash at local parks.  These projects benefit those who live in the area as well as the organization’s mission in their quest of service.

Open House

Lion Ambassadors help introduce Penn State Harrisburg to prospective students. We offer students the opportunity to tour the campus as well as meet with current students.  In addition, the Open House event provides prospective students a closer look at campus life and the infinite possibilities that the student can be involved with on-campus.
