Executive Director Search

The Peace Science Society (International) is looking for an individual to serve as its executive director, beginning a renewable four-year term in November 2019. The Peace Science Society is a group of academics whose research focuses on the causes and consequences of political conflict, focusing on international and intrastate conflict. The executive director is responsible for administering the Society, including organizing its annual meetings, overseeing the Society’s various programs and functions, managing the membership list, ensuring membership benefits are provided, and directing the growth and planning of the Society.

Strong candidates will have had a long association and familiarity with the Peace Science Society. A complete application will include a statement of interest and documented support from the candidate’s home institution. Applications are due December 20, 2017, though the committee may consider applications submitted after that date.

It is anticipated that the search committee will hold interviews finalists at the International Studies Association meting in April 2018, and make its recommendation to the Society’s council in November 2018. We anticipate a one-year transition period.
