Club XC is proud to be paired with four awesome families through the Adopt-a-Family program: the Justin Kaufman, Bryce Carter, Gideon Fisher, and Corban Potter families. Get to know them better with their stories below!!
Justin Kaufman
Diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in 1989, Justin experienced the life-saving care of Hershey Medical Center and the Four Diamonds fund from a very young age. Now over 20 years cancer free, Justin is still giving back through THON and other organizations working towards a cure for pediatric cancer. Now his eighth year being paired with Club XC, Justin has been a source of light, friendship, and inspiration to all who have the privilege of knowing him!
The Bryce Carter Family
Bryce, age 18, has fought and won a battle most will never experience. Around age 12, Bryce was diagnosed with Periosteal Osteosarcoma, a very rare form of bone cancer. Now pursuing nursing at Harrisburg Community College, Bryce is about six years cancer free, and cured! Bryce loves all things soccer and sports, and has also given back greatly to the Four Diamonds Fund through Lower Dauphin’s mini-THONs. He is supported and celebrated by his lovely parents Ian and Heather Carter, as well as his younger siblings Keegan and Olivia.
The Gideon Fisher Family
Anyone who meets Gideon will see within minutes his boundless energy and enthusiasm for life! Gid has made leaps and bounds in his physical health since his diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) over two years ago. With the help of Hershey Medical and the Four Diamonds Fund, Gideon has since reached remission and is in the maintenance phase of his treatment. Gideon loves sports, animals, and Tostitos. He spends his free time playing games with his older brothers, Isaiah and Gabe and is loved and supported by his parents Mark and Christy.
The Corbin Potter Family
Club XC’s newest paired family, just joining the team in January of 2019, the Corban Potter family has already brought countless smiles and laughs to our team. As our BMX biker pro, Corban has brought a new obsession with Hill Climb Racer 2 to our team and constantly amazes us with his energetic shenanigans. We are blessed to be able to say that Corban has been cancer free for 7 years! Along with siblings Manna and Jay Potter, Club XC is excited for countless more memories to be made with the Potter Family.
