Student Engagement Support for Your Class

Dear Instructor,

Do you want to learn how to empower students as engaged scholars? Are you teaching a Student Engagement course in Fall 2018? Then we can offer you two unique opportunities.

Workshop “Empowering Students with Engaged Scholarship”
The workshop will be held in September 2018 and will include:
– Presentation of student engagement opportunities at Penn State.
– Showcases of Engaged Scholarship outside the classroom and in professional practice.
– Exchange of engagement teaching strategies and resources.

Tailored and hands-on advice throughout the semester
We can support four classes with tailored and hands-on advice throughout the semester. To this end, faculty at University Park Campus has developed an Engagement Tool. The Engagement Tool asks students to respond to 15 challenging and stimulating statements on a seven-point Likert scale and in a free response. After completion, students will receive a score related to their knowledge and attitude regarding their engagement experience in the class. This will empower them in their personal growth and development as unique engaged scholars.

Please express your interest in the workshop, using the Engagement Tool in your class, or both, here. Space is limited!

Feel free to forward this email to anyone who may be interested in these opportunities.
