ABSENCE: Penn State Greater Allegheny’s Literary & Visual Art Review
Announces its Spring Submission Deadline for the 2015 Edition (Vol. 17): WEDNESDAY, FEB 25th
Submissions are open to all students, staff, faculty and alumni at PSUGA (full- and part-time). ABSENCE also proudly announces the Tenth Annual Chancellor’s Prizes for Best Literary & Visual Art. $1000.00 in Scholarships will be Awarded (Note: these awards are not direct cash payments, but rather, distributed via PSU Student Business Office Accts.)
You can submit original, creative work from all fields, including: Poetry, Short Fiction & Drama, Non-Fiction & Creative Non-Fiction, Journalism, Personal Essays, Research & Criticism, Visual Arts & Photography, and Teaching International.
How to Submit:
- Save your submission as a digital file that is appropriate for the medium (writing should be in .docx format, images should be high resolution in .jpg or .tif format).
- Give your file the same title as your submission (for ex: Pittsburgh-Alleyway.jpg)
- Prepare a cover page that has all of your identifying information, including your Name, the Title of your submission, both your Email and Snail Mail addresses, and your Phone Number.
- Send your submission and cover letter as attachments to Dr. Manlove, Senior Faculty Advisor: ABSENCE.psuga@gmail.com
Terms & Conditions:
- All submissions are handled using Blind Review
- You can submit up to FIFTEEN (15) works per year, but no more than fifteen will be considered for publication.
- Previously published works will not be considered. You must submit original material only.
- Upon publication, all rights revert to authors. However, ABSENCE reserves the right to republish all materials and to use any published materials to fund its publication.
