Participating in the Penn State Washington Program was an exciting experience.
As a student who commuted to two internships and five classes from my home, I first began this program believing that I would often be isolated from the other students who lived together in the Penn State Program housing option. However, I grew and sustained amazing bonds with many individuals in this program who value success, networking and positive attitudes to make the best out of this exciting opportunity.
During the dinner at one of D.C.’s famous restaurants, the Old Ebbitt Grill, I enjoyed a wonderful meal with colleagues, my professor and also networked with both Penn State and program alumni! In addition, I participated in a moot court for my final exam in my Comm 403 course, which is the Law and Mass Communication class offered in this program. Although I was very nervous to argue a case in front of numerous but familiar alumni justices, it was exciting to get the feel of how a lawyer would argue the case.
The last get-together of the semester was a production of “A Christmas Carol” at Ford’s Theatre. It definitely got all of us into the holiday spirit, although as we took a group picture afterwards there was a feeling of sadness as the semester ended.
I am very grateful to have the opportunity to participate in this program and best wishes to everyone who was in it as well!
