What An Experience

Hey everyone,

So I can’t believe it, but in less than one month I will graduate from Penn State W-B!!! Time flew by so fast, I just really can’t believe it. I was even here for an extra year because I switched my major twice, and it isn’t long enough. After really looking back at my college experience, although it was really nice and I wouldn’t trade it for the world, I feel like I want to do it all over again and have the same great time but do so much more.

Try to be as active as you possibly can and try out new things. I didn’t realize this until my junior year where I became more involved with activities and clubs and it really made my experience so much better. Also throughout my college experience, I have made so many friends and people who I talk with everyday and I believe that making a bond like that with someone is so important and while your going to school to make as many friends as you could.

In high school there are groups called cliques, where the groups only associate with each other and wouldn’t dare to talk with any other cliques. When you come to Penn State W-B, you put that behind you and everyone here is one, everyone is equal, and everyone is friendly to each other and you wouldn’t believe the type of groups I see together now. One thing that I want to say to the freshman and sophomores are don’t be afraid because you only get one chance at the college experience and enjoy every second you can!

One of the Hardest Decisions to Make

Hey everyone,

Well my friend from Texas who was having a hard time deciding what college to choose, and how he had so many options to weigh, has made his decision. He called me yesterday and said that after so much thought and opinions, he pushed everyone’s opinion aside and asked himself, which college would make him the happiest, so he chose Stephen F. Austin State University or SFA. He was so excited about it and told me that he can’t wait to open a new chapter in his life, and begin such an exciting experience at the college he chose.

Like I have mentioned in the previous post regarding how to decide what college to choose, you are the only one who could make that decision, which I told him and he couldn’t have thanked me more when I was talking to him about the advice I gave him. I also told him last night that I was so happy for him, and that he and almost every other college student only gets one chance at having such a great experience, and to make the most of it. I also told him to don’t be afraid when you go there to try new things and be active on and off of campus, because at the end of the day it will pay off, and make you feel good about yourself and the experience you had at college.

The Up and Coming Generation

Jordan here,

So I recently was at an event called the Science Olympiad, where students from middle school to high school from different schools competed against each other in various events. A few events for example were a rotor egg drop, where they had to build a device which would be dropped off a balcony and would have to land safely on the ground without cracking. Another event was you had to build an electronic robot arms, which then you would control it to pick up pencils, ping pong balls, and nails. I thought that event was very interesting for the main fact that, when I was in high school, I would have never known to or even wanted to do anything as complicated asthat, and here we have younger students doing it. There were so many different events which showed the numerous talents of each students.

The reason why I am writing a post on this topic, is for the main reason that I was very proud to see younger students and the next up and coming generation to take such great interest in learning how to create such project and want to participate in these events to better themselves and to help others learn as well. I know that a lot of students just go to school and then go home andwant nothing else to do with learning until the next day where they do it all over again. But these students who sacrificed so many hour of hard work and to go that far is just outstanding and I am proud once again that this will be the next generation to lead this country.

What College to Choose

Hey Everyone,

So I was talking on the phone with my friend from Texas last night, and he is having such a hard time deciding which college to choose and what if he makes the wrong decision. I wanted to write a post about this because I know a lot of future College students have this problem , and I am hoping this will help you make a better decision. So my friend from Texas has to make a decision on whether to go to a college by his house where he will becommuting to and from, or to go to acollege three hours away where he could dorm and potentially join a frat.

His time to think about this is coming to an end because he has to apply for loans and register for classes and what not. He ask me for advice, and I told him from my experience that I chose to go to a local Penn State Campus instead of Main Campus, was because I had many friends who have gone to Penn State W-B and they have said nothing but good things about the campus and I wanted to have the same experience. I explained to him that he is the only one who can make this decision, and I told him don’t think about all the frat parties he will attend, or how he will be on his own, but think about the type of education you want, and what you will get out of the experience.

Some college students make their decision on where to go based on their parents and thats where they want them to go, but with having ambition and deciding on what you want, you can make the right decision on where you want to attend college. He told me that I helped him a lot and that he is going to weigh his options and really think about it and make a decision very soon. Once he hasmade his decision I will make a post on whathe decided and why. :-)

A semester without classes

Hey everyone,

So I have been at my internship for almost 3 weeks now, and after seeing what I accomplished so far, it has occurred to me that I don’t have any classes this semester. I normally have 4 or 5 classes each semester and for the past 5 years, but this semester I am only doing an internship so I can mainly concentrate on it and perform my best. It feels weird not having classes, but to be honest it feels so nice to not have to stress about tests, worry about when things are due, and completing homework and what not.

Having an internship is a lot different from taking classes for the main reason that you feel more independent, and all the work that is required of you to do can be done in a timely fashion, and is directed mainly toward the degree your obtaining. In my opinion an internship is a lot more fun and exciting than classes because the type of work you do is fun and your constantly moving and doing new things.

For anyone who is taking classes at the moment, and will soon be taking an internship, be prepared for an exciting time in your life and choose an internship you will enjoy. :)

Social Media!

Hey Everyone!

Jordan here and I wanted to make a post about social media sites and after reintroduced to I enjoy them tremendously. I know that not everyone uses Facebook and Twitter and what not, but after I recently started using them I am really enjoying using social media sites. I used to have a Facebook a few years ago, but then it got hacked and I never went back to using any social media sites. Not that I am back to using them, I can see why everyone is using them especially companies all around the world. It is so easy to post something and have it reach hundreds to millions of people in seconds, and it’s great for advertising and marketing. If you do not use any social media sites, I would suggest getting started and getting caught up. :)

Spring Fever

Hey everyone,

So I’m not sure how everyone else is feeling, but I am getting sick of these winter storms and of this snow. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy a nice snow fall, but not every week. I wish it would snow around Thanksgiving and Christmas and then stop after the month of December. There is nothing like waking up on Christmas day and looking outside and seeing it snowing out, but besides that I am all snowed out. I’m looking forward to getting my sport bike out and going for rides on that, and riding to Penn State on it.

Nothing to do now but to wait.

Talk to you in my next post!!
