Denver Nationals 2019

Once again the Women’s Club team had an awesome showing at Nationals. Our A team lost a hard fought battle against the defending national champions, Texas A&M, placing them 5 in the nation in the Women’s Division I Gold Bracket. The B team had a great season as well, placing in the top 20 in the Women’s Division III Silver Bracket. Congrats to everyone on a very successful season and a special shout out to our Men’s B team on winning the Division III National Championship! Catch ya on the flip side in St. Louis!

 

Nationals Highlight Video 2019

James Madison Ranking Tournament

Both teams played tough this weekend in Virginia. A team fought hard and won the ranking tournament, defeating JMU A in the finals. B team also came out on top versus JMU B in the silver finals. In the end it was a PSU sweep at this ranking tournament! Bring on Nationals, both teams are ready to bring home some hardware!

University of  Michigan Spring Tournament

The A team headed to Ann Arbor this weekend for the U of M Spring Tournament. It ended up being a successful weekend for the Nittany Lions as they defeated the Wolverines in 2 on their home court to win it all. Congrats on a good win ladies!

Nittany Lion Invitational

Penn State hosted their own tournament this weekend right here in Happy Valley. We had a good turn out with 15 teams and some good competition. The A team came out on top defeating Pitt A to win the Nittany Lion Invitational. Overall both teams had a successful first semester and we can’t wait to come back and start preparing for Nationals 2019!!

University of Virginia Tournament 

The Nittany Lions traveled to Charlottesville, Virginia to compete at this tournament. B team made it to the silver bracket and fought hard but lost in the semi finals. The A team played University of Virginia’s A team in the gold bracket finals and came out on top to win the match in three sets. Great job to both teams this weekend keep up the good work!

Dayton Flyer Invitational 

Both A and B team traveled to Dayton, Ohio for the very first tournament of the season. There was some tough competition but both teams made it to the gold bracket. Both teams lost in first rounds of bracket play, however, it was a great start to the season and we are ready to come back strong and play hard!

St. Louis Nationals 2018

Both of our teams did an outstanding job this year at nationals. The A team finished 9th out of 48 teams, losing to Texas A&M in the first rounds of the Women’s Division 1 Gold Bracket. The B team defeated Cal Poly in the Women’s Division 3 Gold Bracket championship game to become this years Division 3 National Champions!! Congratulations to everyone on an amazing season, see everyone next year in Denver, CO!

James Madison University Tournament

Both teams traveled to Virginia this weekend for the last tournament of the season! The B team finished 4th out of 20 teams and the A team defeated JMU in the finals to win the tournament. Congrats on a great season to everyone. Time for Nationals in St. Louis!!

Buffalo Tournament 

Congrats to the A team on winning this league tournament! Both teams traveled all the way to Buffalo just to play each other in the finals. Good job ladies!  

Bloomsburg & Drexel Tournament

A team on the road again with a double tournament win this weekend. First up was Bloomsburg on Saturday and Drexel on Sunday. Way to play hard everyone!

 

University of Pennsylvania Tournament

The A team traveled to Philadelphia for this league tournament defeating UPenn in the championship and winning the tournament. Great job ladies, keep it up!

Ohio State University Tournament

Both teams traveled to Ohio this weekend for some good competition.The B team lost in the quarter finals to Ohio State B. The A team fought hard to defeat the Buckeyes on their home court leading them to victory. Way to play tough!

University of Connecticut Tournament 

The A team traveled to Connecticut for their first league tournament of the year. Battling UConn in the quarter finals PSU persevered and advanced to the semi finals where they beat Boston College in a single set to 30! Playing in the finals were PSU and Northeastern, it was a point for point match but Penn State came out on top. Congrats on the first league tournament win ladies, keep up the good work!

 

University of Pittsburgh Tournament

Both teams traveled to Pittsburgh this weekend for the first tournament of the season! A team made their mark by defeating Pitt and winning the tournament. Great way to start the season!
