Penn State York Library Updates

Look for more updates when Barb returns from important home duties, but in the meantime, I can report two important pieces of news from the library:

  • Congratulations to Barb Eshbach for being named the new Head Librarian of the Penn State York Campus! This is a tenure track faculty position, so Barb will be busy with library duties as well as her own research on the role of the libraries in student success. We congratulate you and wish you success – your success will be our own!
  • Welcome to Stephanie Diaz, new Reference and Instruction Librarian!

A message from Barb:
Please join me in welcoming Stephanie Diaz, our new reference and instruction librarian, who started on campus Thursday, August 15.

Stephanie obtained her Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of South Carolina and comes to us from Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina, where she was the reference/instruction librarian and an active promoter of the library. I think she is the perfect fit for our campus as she shares the University Libraries’ dedication to providing student-centered library services.

We will be co-teaching the library instruction sessions at the beginning of the fall semester, so please email both of us with your scheduling requests. We’re happy to collaborate with you in teaching your students the library research and information literacy skills they will need to succeed academically, so, even if you haven’t scheduled library instruction before, think about how we can help!

Stephanie’s contact information is:

Thanks for your support!
