Reflection for 9/22/14 to 9/26/14

It’s Monday, & I’m nearing the end of the day. Simeon wasn’t feeling well, so I stayed home with him & skyped in for a meeting. It’s great to work in a flexible environment :). I’m hoping for things to slow down a bit, but it looks like this may not happen any time soon.

I didn’t get back to this until the next Monday. I’ll be happy when I can finally get a chance to reflect.

Reflection for 9/15/14 to 9/19/14

It’s Monday late, but I’m getting this started. For some reason this semester is way busier than normal. It has alot to do with my charge to help with communication between LD and IT. It also has to do with me teaching a course. It also has something to do with alot of new instructors. All of this is good, but I’m rushing through days. I’m hoping that things eventually slow down a bit.

It’s Friday, and I’m finishing up another crazy week. I did interviews, worked on live courses, and worked on upcoming courses. I’m hoping that things slow down soon.

Reflection for 9/8/14 to 9/12/14

It’s Friday, and I’m finally getting to this post. It’s been a busy week to say the least. I’ve learned alot and am hoping to grow more by reflection as we move forward.

What has been taking up my time is revisions, and meetings. I’ve been working with inter-unit communication and trying to get things done. But I wish that things could slow down enough that I could realize a bit more.

Reflection for 9/1/14 to 9/5/14

It was Labor Day on Monday, so I got a late start to the week. I also WAH in the AM on Tuesday and Wednesday. It has been a busy week.

I’m working with a faculty member on a 402, and we have another 402 ready to run as well. This is alot of work that needs to be completed quickly. I’m hoping that both courses come together well.

I went to a Penn State forum by Charles Brock: http://sites.psu.edu/forum/2014/03/13/charles-brock-2/. He’s definitely a complex person who could identify with Nixon and Obama. The biggest take-aways for me was the thought of needing to move away from the binary way of thinking. Nothing is completely right or wrong. Too many people try to paint the other side as being wrong and can’t see their own flaws.  Also, I can see how freedom is not necessarily a democratic trait. His point was that oligarchies can also have freedom.

Kent ran a nice session on pretotyping during our weekly meeting. It focused on making a prototype to help move an idea forward. I had the idea of the iVault which would serve to untether us from our mobile devices and help us to reenter.

It’s Friday at around 5:30, and I’m still trying to tie things up. This was a long arduous day, so I’m looking forward to getting some family time this weekend.
