During the recent conference “Exploring the Meta-Values of Authentic Leadership: Moral Literacy in Action“, Charles Burford (Associate Professor of Leadership at the Australian Catholic University) sat down with us to discuss some of the themes of the conference. In this clip, he discusses differences in implementing a values-based model of leadership at religious institutions and at secular institutions.  One is more likely to find teachers already committed to what Burford refers to as a covenental approach (i.e., one based on commitments concerning the moral purpose of their work as educators) at religious institutions.  However, he claims that the values-based model of ‘Leadership as a Moral Process’ that is at the center of the Leaders Transforming Learners and Learning (LTLL) project does work at secular institutions as well.
