Here are the details for our recruit weekend to be held October 25-27.
FRIDAY OCTOBER 25th
- The weekend will start with you meeting players and staff, and watching our pre-match Captain’s Run Friday evening. The run through starts at 6:00pm at our West Campus Pitches DIRECTIONS TO PSU AND PITCH.
- Once you arrive at the pitch you will be paired up with your current player host for the weekend.
- After the Captain’s Run you will be released with your host for the evening.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 26th
- Your host will bring you to the pitch in the morning at 11:00am for you to see the inner workings of a match day, and witness our pre-match preparations.
- A side match versus Davenport will kickoff at 1:00pm, B side match will start immediately after.
- After the conclusion of the B match there be a post-match social at the field, or in an adjacent campus building where you will be fed by our parent’s group and get a chance to socialize with the players.
- After the post-match social you will be released with your host for the evening.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 27th
- Your host will bring you to East Area Lockers Building, our home base on campus, by 10:00am. You will be fed a light brunch (Coffee, Juice, Fruit, Donuts, Bagels) when you arrive.
- Following brunch we will conduct a tour of our indoor training facility, weight room, training room, and classroom.
- Following the tour we will meet in the classroom for presentations on Penn State University and Penn State Rugby, including admissions.
- After the presentations there will be time for questions and answers, then you will be released. This should happen by Noon.
I have heard from about 20 players so far who are planning on attending. There is still time to participate. If you are interested in coming and have not contacted us yet, please contact Head Coach Don Ferrell to be included. Also feel free to contact Coach Ferrell if you have any questions about the event.
