The Nittany Lion Rugby Association (“NLRA”) is seeking qualified candidates to become its full-time Director of Rugby Development and the Penn State Men’s Rugby Coach.  The Director of Rugby Development will lead the NLRA’s efforts to develop rugby in the region surrounding Pennsylvania State University. The successful candidate will also be appointed as the Penn State Men’s Coach, subject to the approval of the University.
As the Penn State Men’s Coach, the successful candidate will lead the team’s on-field development and will collaborate with University staff in growing Penn State Men’s and Women’s Rugby into a world-class program. Penn State designates rugby as a Team Sport, which provides substantial benefits above a club sport. These benefits include professional staff support, access to the varsity strength and conditioning program, varsity athlete health insurance, and dedicated athletic trainers and doctors.
The main objective of the NLRA is to grow the sport of rugby throughout the region surrounding Penn State. As the Director of Rugby Development, the successful candidate’s efforts to support this campaign will include recruiting volunteers, establishing and running youth camps, and providing coach development opportunities. The Director will work with all of the local clubs in the region, including high school programs, the Penn State Rugby teams, and local club teams, to further the NLRA’s mission.
The NLRA invites all qualified individuals to consider this opportunity to grow rugby in Pennsylvania and help Penn State Rugby achieve its goal of becoming the finest rugby program in the nation. Interviews will begin immediately with an application deadline of January 5, 2014.  Selected applicants will be invited to Penn State for face-to-face interviews and assessments in January. A very competitive salary is offered.
To apply, please send cover letters and resumes to NLRA President,  Bernie Cantorna.
