Returning flanker Malcolm May ’17 is no stranger to the limelight, but this summer will undoubtedly be a memorable one as he was named to both the High School All American roster and the US Youth Olympic 7’s roster following a standout season in Happy Valley. May despite entering his second year of college is age eligible and ready for a big summer ahead. In the HSAA match against host Argentina, flanker Malcolm May led the tackle count for the US. The Americans won their final game to place 3rd in the Four Nations, beating Uruguay. For his relentless effort on the pitch, he was named to the all tournament team . After the trip to Argentina, May will be heading to Nanjing, China to play under former England 7’s star Ben Gollings. When asked what he most was looking forward to bringing back to his teammates he responded, “I definitely want to instill a much more physical mindset in the forward pack and work on our tackle awareness complimenting our game speed and tempo. I am very excited for this upcoming season and look forward to the challenges ahead.” Malcolm will definitely be a star to watch this season as he hopes to add to his impressive rugby resume with success here at Penn State.
