Had the chance recently to do a session with my fellow instructional designers to share some of the mindfulness and social-emotional learning practices from UC Berkeley. It was wonderful doing the practices together with people and getting the chance to talk about the incorporation of these kinds of things into design conversations. It also gave me the chance to build out the website that I started using with the graduate education students. I’m also talking with folks at our local community college, to do the same sort of workshop with their faculty before classes begin again. Each step is helping me to better integrate what I’m learning and articulate the usefulness of it all in education. I also really enjoy it, so this is a win-win!
