The Sheetz Fellows Program prepares Penn State Altoona undergraduate students to be leaders on campus, in their organizations and communities, and in a global society. Sheetz Fellows demonstrate a vigorous spirit and aspire to achieve professional and personal development beyond the traditional classroom setting.

Sheetz Fellows are assisted in their growth and development by dedicated faculty, staff, and leaders in the community. The program excels at instilling a sense of servant leadership, offering mentorship from industry experts and professors, and providing experiential education through study away, seminars, and workshops.

Networking Opportunities
Sheetz Fellows develop meaningful relationships with community and business leaders who are committed to helping students succeed. Each student is paired with a mentor to assist with professional growth and development as a leader.
Study Away
Sheetz Fellows travel to international destinations to broaden their knowledge of global business operations, explore career possibilities, and gain a stronger sense of self. The ten-day educational experience includes fully paid travel, lodging, and events.
Non-Traditional Coursework
Sheetz Fellows expand their knowledge beyond the classroom setting through conferences, Expert-In-Residence meetings, business tours, mentorship, servant leadership, and real-world projects with leadership opportunities.
Scholarships
Sheetz Fellows are eligible for numerous scholarships, including both merit-based and need-based. Eligible students may apply for a full in-state tuition diversity scholarship.

Sheetz Fellows are granted the unique opportunity for personal interaction with Steve Sheetz, former CEO and Chairman of the Board, of Sheetz Inc., a multibillion dollar company and recognized industry leader of convenience retailing. Students develop a personal connection while gaining first-hand knowledge of his successes, challenges, and valuable advice.
