P.I.E.D.

For most young guys erectile dysfunction is not something they worry about. At the same time for most young guys porn is, simply put, a part of life. It’s becoming more and more common for these two things to overlap and cause a huge problem for any guy looking to get laid.

Obviously erectile dysfunction is huge problem for a lot of men, usually over the age of 40, and there are many pills out there to help solve the problem. There’s also the suggestion of living a healthier lifestyle. But what about young guys? Guys between the ages of 15 and 25 have never been thought to deal with erectile dysfunction, but it’s becoming a more prominent in today’s society. The other thing that is becoming more prominent (and more widely accepted and accessible) is porn. In this case causation is definitely to blame. Porn induced erectile dysfunction is becoming a problem for young guys who watch a lot of porn. The name, Porn induced erectile dysfunction, is sort of an oxymoron. No one thinks of porn as something that would cause erectile dysfunction, in fact, most people assume the opposite. That being said research shows that too much porn can have adverse affects for young men.

Porn induced erectile dysfunction develops when too much porn is being watched. Researchers here at Penn State have looked into the problem, along with other outside studies. There isn’t a ton of conclusive research, so most of what we do know has been investigated very little. The erectile dysfunction experienced during real intercourse is basically due to some developmental confusion in the brain. When a male watches too much porn, his brain can not interpret one type of sexual stimulation from another. What begins to happen is the brain begins to interpret what is watched in the porn, into what is happening in reality. When a male goes to have intercourse with someone the brain is no longer sexual aroused by something so simple. Additionally, for males who are in relationships that view porn, their brains are no longer used to being with one woman, so they have problems being with one person because their brain believes they are with many woman because of the varying people pictured in pornographic video.

Not to fear, this problem is curable and not long lasting. Eventually your brain will adapt to everything and your erections will return to normal, but if you want the problem to go away because you’re in a relationship many researchers suggest a quick cure with some additional benefits. They say to stop watching porn for 30 days and you will see your sex life drastically improve (i.e. longer erections, more stimulation, etc.).
