Planning Your Wedding

A Few Guidelines:

Our goal is to keep the Smith Chapel in pristine condition for your use. To make sure it remains that way after your ceremony, please refer to the guidelines below.

Decorations:

  • Use only string or ribbon to display decorations.
  • Do not use pins, staples, tape, or nails.
  • All decorations must be taken down on the day of the wedding. Any decorations that are left behind will be discarded after one week.
  • All candles must be dripless and odorless.

Food & Drink:

  • Food and beverage are permitted in designated areas of the chapel only.
  • Smoking and alcohol use are prohibited, as is anything, such as incense, that may leave a lasting odor.

Recessional Throws:

  • Only bubbles may be used – outside the chapel.

Parking & Signage:

  • All guests should be directed to the Junker Lot for parking.
  • Guests with mobility issues may be shuttled up to the chapel doors, but no cars can park in front of the chapel.
  • Signage is permitted, starting at the entrance to the Junker Lot all the way up to the chapel. No signage is allowed on Jordan Road.
  • Chalking the sidewalks is prohibited.

 

Planning Your Wedding at the Smith Chapel:

What We Can Provide:

After you have locked in your wedding date with your submitted application and deposit, the real planning begins! You will need to fill out the Wedding Venue Set-Up Form (link below) to allow us to get a feel for how you are going to want the chapel to be set up for your big day. It will also let you see the inventory that is available for your use during your wedding.

After you have filled out that form, we will schedule a Pre-Wedding Meeting, which will take place about a month before your wedding date to meet face-to-face and finalize set-up plans for your wedding day.

What You Will Need to Provide:

As you plan your Smith Chapel wedding, please keep in mind that you will need to provide some items and services for your special day, which can be found below.
