Green Tour of Lincoln Financial Field

With our campus located right outside of Philadelphia, it is no surprise that we are huge fans of the reigning Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. We are also huge fans of the sustainability efforts that are part of the operations of their home stadium, Lincoln Financial Field.

We booked a private tour to learn about the green initiatives of this very green stadium (not just because green is one of the official team colors!). The tour covered everything from the stadium’s solar panels and wind turbines, to the green practices of maintaining the field, to being a zero-waste, LEED Silver certified building. And we even went in to the Eagles locker room and down to the field. What a day! On the right is Sustainovation Club member Yvonne Maloy on the sideline of Lincoln Financial Field.

Sustainovation Club adviser Dr. Laura Guertin did a complete write-up of the tour on her personal blog, Journeys of Dr. G – check it out for more photos and video! https://journeysofdrg.org/2018/09/17/pa-sustainability-tour-of-lincoln-financial-field/

The group had so much fun, we are looking to continue with additional sustainability tours of local facilities – stay tuned!
