Field Trip

For our last class we went on a field trip to a Historical site, the site was a church where many escaped slave stayed. However, the fact that and under rail road cite is in Bellefonte was surprising to me. Bellefonte in the middle of no were, and I never thought in a million years I will be in a historic black site. Experiencing the site was really amazing, for I got to see different ways slave express themselves. Which was really artistic and new to me. Because, the way that lady singing was smoothing, and the guy’s dancing was amazing.

My first impression of the trip was that I was going to go on a trip and not learn anything. However, I learned a lot more about black history than ever knew. I learned about not only the blacks that felt like it was their purpose to help free slaves, but the whites who had a strong religious background who knew that slavery was wrong, and whites that had personal slaves that hated the fact that a group of people had to suffer for someone else.

These people might have not all been black are were personally affected by slavery, but they all found it in their heart to say that slavery was Wrong. Because, they all saw the suffering of the slaves and knew it was wrong. In their society slaves were considered to be property, but two people of a different race when against the grain. These people along with others fought to change the suffering of many Africans. Even when their families thought differently.
