How many peer writing tutors do you have, and what do you call yourselves?
~27 Writing Advisors

Are your advisors paid? How are they trained?
~Paid. All advisors interview for and take a semester-long, four-credit course, English 242: Writing Center Theory and Practice, before working in the Center.

Describe a typical tutorial format.
~We probably work against the idea of a typical session; each conversation will be geared to that particular writer and that particular assignment. We do always try to start with where the writer is, and opening questions are usually some variation of “what are you working on today?” From there, we talk with the writer to establish the best way to structure the session. We try to avoid any “default” setting to our sessions, but it is fair to say that many writers appreciate reading through their paper aloud and talking about the structure, the evidence, and the style.
