Patricia writes, “I am a third year Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications student at the University of Winnipeg in Canada. I am a peer tutor at my university’s writing centre. I have only been a peer tutor for about two months now, and my time as a peer tutor has taught me a lot about tutoring. I decided to create this infographic for two reasons: to show the common misconceptions of what most people believe peer tutors do in a tutoring session (i.e. edit papers or proofread them) compared to what they actually do (go over the paper with the writer); and to remind to my fellow tutors that the common misconceptions of what people believe they do in their tutoring sessions are the same misconceptions that peer tutors throughout the world face.”
