A little more than 250 students attended Penn State Abington’s 2017 Fall Career Expo. About 86 businesses and organizations came to open their doors to amazing careers for Abington students. From Chick-fil-A to PNC Bank, a large variety of companies was on hand to interview and check out the skill and education students have to offer.
If there was nothing specific to address a particular major, organizations like Women’s Center of Montgomery County look for any type of major. They offer internships at their nonprofit organization, which deals with everyday life situations against domestic abuse of both men and women.
PNC Bank was looking for tellers and people interested in customer service as well as full- and part-time interns from all majors.
For those who wish to have something with more creativity, organizations like MineFair are looking to inspire and create fan experiences for the game Minecraft. MineFair has internships for people who enjoy coding, engineering and giving their fans an incredible experience of education and technology.
Liberal Arts/Arts majors who and you did not find anything specific targeting their major can look forward to the Spring 2018 Expo next semester, which will have a larger variety of internships for students to get into. The school advises its students to consider the opportunities these companies have to offer.
Job expos like these are a great way to start one’s career, no matter what your major.
Below are the survey results of this year’s expo, which explains how 83 percent of the companies found potential candidates. With such a large variety of internships, there is no limit to what a person can achieve. The Career Expo could be the first step in the right direction.
