Yes, the Saquon Barkley era is over in Happy Valley, but there’s a new, more exciting era on the horizon. That new era’s name is Trace McSorley.
McSorley has all the intangibles you want in a game-changing, Heisman-caliber player. He’s quick, smart, he throws a good ball, has electric big-play ability, and most importantly, knows the offense.
Even with Saquon Barkley, McSorley accounted for 75 percent of scoring plays in his two years at Penn State, and he brings a record of 22-5 as a starter into this season.
Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso, who are respected college football analysts, both chose McSorley as their Heisman pick. Herbstreit went as far as calling him this year’s Baker Mayfield, because Penn State can only go as far as McSorley takes them.
Coming into the 2018 season, Penn State may have lost vital players to the offense-guys like Barkley, Hamilton, and Gesicki – but there are new stars ready to emerge and help McSorley lead Penn State to the College Football Playoff.
Miles Sanders (running back), Juwan Johnson (wide receiver), DeAndre Thompkins (wide receiver),K.J. Hamler (wide receiver) are four standout playmakers who can make this offense one of the best in the country.
McSorley, who already holds the touchdown passing record, is on the cusp of breaking the career yardage mark, and is ready to add to his impressive resume by winning a Heisman and hopefully a National Championship.
