Martha Larkin is currently a college junior pursuing double majors in English and Creative Writing as well as double minors in American and Women’s’ studies. Martha has always had a passion for literature; her fondest memories often involved being curled up with a book and her beloved childhood cat, Pumpkin. A lifelong animal lover, Martha self-identifies as a “crazy cat lady” who much prefers feline companionship to anything else. The shared passions of literature and pets inspired her to create a space dedicated to the various pets that amused and comforted her literary idols- The Literary Mews. Although her academic research and scholarship does not often include literary pets, her current lovely feline companions, Spice and Carmen, attempt to contribute to her writing process by sitting on the keyboard while she is writing. She may yell at them for it, but she ultimately appreciates their interest.
Please feel free to contact Martha regarding sixteenth century herbals, cat videos, Modernism, literary pet names, or any other topic.
