My first Penn State summer semester was a blast! I put forth a lot of hard work and diligence this summer and it was completely worth it! The LEAP program helped me adjust well to campus and I can happily say that I don’t regret coming in the summer.
One of my main concerns coming into the summer session was my procrastination. Like I said in my first blog, this was a big issue for me in high school. I thought this summer session was going to be especially difficult since I would rather be relaxing a bit more and having fun with friends and family. However, I come to find that it wasn’t all that bad! It was difficult at times, but I held strong, pushed through and gave it my all. It was a bit difficult at times when I had to stay home and study while some of my friends would go and hang out, but I knew school and my grades were much more important. I can now proudly say that I gave the summer session all I had and made good use of my time without procrastinating.
Another huge goal of mine was to meet new people and establish some good friendships. I can say that I met a lot of individuals that I will miss, but am excited to see them in a few short weeks! These individuals made the summer session, memorable and completely worth the experience. I am a local and have a lot of friends from State College, but now I have made friend across the U.S and it was a very cool experience to see all the cultures and hometown habits mix. This summer semester was truly a memorable experience. I can’t wait until the fall!
