My research examines the patterns and processes of latitudinal and attitudinal treelines, particularly angiosperm treelines.   The treeline ecotone is the region between the continuous forest and the tundra.  This ecotone is typically known for being composed of gymnosperms, thus these angiosperm treelines are intriguing.  Climatic, topographic and anthropogenic interactions along with disturbance regimes all play a role in the formation and persistence of treelines.
