We are the Pennsylvania State University chapter of the Society of Physics Students, a national organization dedicated to preparing students for the aspects of professional life not taught in class, including personal interactions, leadership opportunities, making professional connections, and community outreach.
We do fun builds, tour lab facilities, hear talks from professors about their research, and do outreach in the community, including an annual trip to Six Flags to volunteer for Physics Day!
Our organization is made up of students from many different majors, including engineering, astronomy/astrophysics, computer science, and meteorology. The only requirement for membership is an interest in physics.
The PSU chapter in particular offers a lot of unique opportunities for students on campus. With the support of a world renowned faculty, a diverse group of students, and a comfortable lounge for our use, SPS has many resources to make us worth your time.
Meetings for Spring 2016 are held at 6:30 PM every Wednesday in 219 Osmond. All are welcome!
