3D Printing Fundraiser

Joey will bring in his 3D printer and we will be making penn state stuff for anyone who wants it! This is a club fundraiser so if you want something bring $5-15 as a donation for the 3D supplies and to go toward the cloud chamber. Six Flags Physics Day

April 24th is Six Flags Physics Day and SPS is looking for volunteers to help show off physics demonstrations, run accelerometer stations, and talk to students about what it's like to study physics. And while Physics Day only lasts until 2:30 PM, our volunteers get to stay and play until 6:00 PM! Talk and Picnic

First, Chad Hanna, an assistant professor here (and ugrad in physics from PSU!), will come give a talk on his research. He is a gravitational-wave astrophysicist who works with LIGO data. This starts at 6:30 PM! He is awesome so you should definitely come listen to his lecture. He also volunteers every year to run the Physics GRE boot camp with Jason Wright so you should definitely get involved with that if you are planning on taking the Physics GRE.…

Google Cardboard

Google Cardboard is a project by Google to provide an inexpensive way to access virtual reality.  By using cardboard to strap your smart phone to your face, you can make a surprisingly effective VR headset. Meeting- 9 Sep 15 – Undergrad Research and Future Planning

Officer Elections – Meeting

Sausage Cookout – Meeting

For the final meeting of the year, SPS will be holding its annual Sausage Cookout.  Members will be grilling up sausages, and Tofu-ausage for the more animal friendly, along with other snacks.  Weather permitting, it will be held at Sunset Park.  If not, we will try our best not to set off the Osmond fire alarms.

Six Flags Physics Day

On April 22nd, SPS members will once again be heading to Six Flags America in Maryland for National Physics Day.  They will be teaching high schoolers about physics with accelerometers for the rollercoasters and leading other physics demonstrations.  At around 2pm, the high school students will leave and SPSers will have full reign of the park until 6pm!
