For those of you who’ve already attended Spend a Summer Day at one of our campuses, we hope you had a great time and would love to hear about your visit experience.
For those of you who are planning to attend Spend a Summer Day at our University Park campus next week or the week after, we’ve got a ton of new and exciting things in store for you this year. Here’s just a brief preview:
– Our information fair at HUB Alumni Hall has been completely redesigned. We will have a photo booth where you can take pictures with the Nittany Lion and other Penn State favorites, so don’t forget your camera! Alumni Hall is also where you will go to jump on a campus tour and get more information from various Penn State departments. If you have questions about what type of computer to bring to college, how to apply for financial aid, how to be considered for ROTC, or any other Penn State question, this will be the place to go.
– This year, for the first time ever (and we’re SUPER excited about this!), you’ll be able to connect with us before, during, and after your visit through social networking. You’re invited to:
o Check our Facebook site (http://www.facebook.com/psuadmissions) throughout the day to check out updates on our wall and see thoughts from staffers, alumni volunteers, other visitors, and others who help make SASD a success;
o Share your photos and check out ours on Flickr site (http://www.flickr.com/photos/psuadmissions; tag your uploaded photos SASD10) ;
o Be on the lookout for students and staffers who will be roaming around campus taking video highlights of the day with Flip cameras. Videos will be posted to our YouTube site (http://www.youtube.com/psuadmissions) and our Facebook page.
o Join in the conversation on Twitter (http://twitter.com/psu_admissions)! The hashtag for Spend a Summer Day is #SASD10. There will be a Twitter feed on a screen in HUB Alumni Hall where you can view the conversation live as it happens.
o And don’t forget to visit our “social media hub” in the info fair next to the welcome desk.
Please remember to wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water, and come prepared for a day’s worth of excitement.
We look forward to seeing you on campus!
