Happy November! As you consider how to portion out your Halloween candy, I’m sure your thoughts are turning to Thanksgiving break and, of course, college application deadlines.
As you may already know, Penn State’s priority application date for summer and fall 2013 is November 30. We don’t have binding early action or early decision admission, but all applications received by November 30 are in our first review group. Basically, if you apply by November 30, you’ll have the best chance of receiving your first choice campus and major. You will also receive an admission decision from us no later than January 31.
Your application needs to be complete, including all transcripts and standardized scores, by November 30 to meet the priority deadline. Now is a great time to request your transcripts and scores if you haven’t already done so. Your application status in MyPennState will update as we receive these items.
Some of our majors, including Nursing, Architecture, and the Premedical-Medical Program, have strict November 30 deadlines. Visit our dates and deadlines page for more information.
We know that Hurricane Sandy may cause some delays in getting transcripts or submitting an application for those on the East Coast; please call 814-865-5471 or email email@example.com if you’re in that situation and we’ll discuss your options for receiving a deadline extension.
This is also a great time to sneak in a visit to one of our campuses before submitting your application; sessions are available through Thanksgiving. As always, feel free to contact us if you have questions or need help with anything on your application.
