Gjøvik is located approximately 124 km north of Oslo and 45 km south of Lillehammer.

Airports

Oslo Airport (alternatively referred to as Oslo Gardermoen Airport) is the closest airport, which is the international airport serving Oslo, Norway, the capital and most populous city in the country.

From the airport, there are hourly daily departures by the airport train via Oslo to Gjøvik, and the journey takes about 2-2,5 hours. Rental cars are available at Gardermoen. Please make your bookings prior to departure.

Travel from Oslo

By Road: There are several daily express bus routes between Oslo and the Gjøvik region and Ringsaker. Travel time is about 2 hours from Oslo. More information can be found at the Vy express bus website. If you want to go by car to Gjøvik, follow Rv4 or E16.

By Train: Trains to Gjøvik from Oslo depart almost every hour, and travel time is approximately 2 hours. Prices and timetables can be found at the Vy train webpage.

Getting to the Quality Strand Hotel Gjøvik

By bus: The direct ‘Flight bus’ from the Airport to Gjøvik is not available anymore. The bus service was closed due to corona.

Train service from Oslo Airport Gardermoen (Oslo lufthavn):
Alternative 1: Train (RE11 or Airport Train) to Oslo Central station and connect to RE30 direct train from there to Gjovik station.
Alternative 2: Train from Airport (Oslo lufthavn) to Moelv (RE10 direction to Lillehammer) and connect with bus to Gjøvik station.
