Over the past several weeks of class, we’ve read a variety of essays and articles in The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2014, topics ranging from the the impact of Facebook on loneliness to the causes of the recent measles outbreak.
Consider this entry a “reader-response” entry. React and respond to one or more of these readings. You can argue with the writer, agree and extend the discussion, or share an experience or story that relates to the issues. In any case, you should make sure you refer to particular examples from the reading (quotes, perhaps) to root your reaction in the text.
Now that you have two other blog entries under your belt, try to have fun with the design of this one. Incorporate an image or two. (But make sure to attribute the image to its source, as I’ve done below.) Can you use design features, like bold, contrast in size, or color? Push yourself to link to other pages on the web when it would extend and deepen the conversation (or help your reader in some other way–a definition? a resource?)
