1989: Local Artist Donates Paintings

1989The artwork of Virginia Cohn Parkum, a Penn State Harrisburg alumna and local artist, was on display in the Gallery Lounge in September of 1989.  During a reception held, Parkum donated her painting “Liberation from the Golden Calf” to the college.  Some of Parkum’s works would again be on display in the late ’90s, and in 2011-2012, an exhibit in the Linda Schwab Reading Room “As We Remember: A Journey through the Holocaust and its Aftermath in Paintings and Poetry” would again feature Parkum’s paintings.
