Food service on campus was limited in the 1990s.  A room located in the basement of the Olmsted Building provided hot and cold foods and held vending machines.  Previously named “Vendorville,” the cafeteria was renamed the “Lion’s Den” in 1981.

Childcare Center

After years of lobbying the college for affordable, convenient, and professional day-care services on campus, a childcare center was finally created by renovating the former Student Center near Wrisberg Hall.  The Center was dedicated in 1991, with Dr. Ruth Leventhal present at the ceremony.  Today, its called the Penn State Harrisburg Child Learning Center and operated by Hildebrandt Learning Centers, LLC.
