Occupying a prominent location in the heart of campus, the new library was a technologically-advanced facility when it opened in January 2000. Designed collaboratively by Boston-based Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott, Inc. and Altoona-based Hayes Large Architects, LLC, the “Library of the Future” boasted the capacity to house 500,000 volumes, 180 computers, data ports throughout the building, group study rooms, an exhibition space, and a Cyber Café.
