2009: Construction begins on “Green” Residence Hall

Restudenthousingcently renamed Juniata House, construction began in 2009 on new student housing  designed with sustainability in mind.  The building was planned to be the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building on campus.  Completed in 2010,  the building includes bio-fiber paneling, built-in recycling centers, and recycled-content materials, as well as energy saving heating and cooling as well as efficient lighting.  The building would be officially LEED certified in February of 2013.
