The Archives and Special Collections in the Madlyn L. Hanes Library at Penn State Harrisburg is home to 10 major collections, including the Penn State Harrisburg College History Archives, the Alice K. Marshall Women’s History Collection, the Pennsylvania Center for Folklore Collection, and more! The purpose of this site is to host our Virtual Exhibitions, which will highlight the materials held in the Archives and Special Collections in order to better understand and to more effectively share the college’s rich and unique legacy. Each virtual exhibition will highlight the people, places, events, activities, and traditions that have made our college community one-of-a-kind in the South Central Pennsylvania region. Our first virtual exhibition, 50 Years of Women @ Penn State Harrisburg, focuses on women and women’s issues at the college.

Our Art & Architecture @ Penn State Harrisburg exhibition is dedicated to showcasing the art and architecture of our college campus, including the artwork, buildings, sculpture, signs, sports facilities, and other landmarks at the college.

Our Harrisburg Rock Festival Virtual Exhibition is online now for Spring 2023! This virtual exhibition focuses on an organized music festival that was hosted at the Capitol Campus (the original name of Penn State Harrisburg) every May from 1971 to 1978.
