Have you ever been told, your not a 90’s kid even though you were in fact born in the 90’s ?

So what’s up with that ?!?

Supposedly if you were born in 1996 , 1997, 1998 , and 1999 you weren’t “old enough” to really experience what it was like to be a 90’s kid. I mean they’re right to a certain extent but not entirely. I still have some memories… or were those from the 2000’s ?

Well considering the average person’s memories only start from between ages 3 and 4, you could consider somebody to have vivid childhood memories of the 90’s
For example, in my case I was born in 1998 and would (typically) not have any memories until 2001 or 2002, so 1996 would likely be the cut-off year.
On the other end, anybody born at a point where their childhood ends before 1990 they would also not be considered a 90’s kid. Apparently, your childhood ends at 12 because after 12 you become (thirteen) a teenager . So if you were born in 1978 you would not be a “child” in 1990 and then wouldn’t be a 90’s kid either.

A child born in 1986/1987 would be the “perfect 90’s kid” because their memories would be active and their childhood would both begin and end in the 90’s.

So what does this mean for the blog , If I’m not a 90’s kid …giphy-2

It mean’s that by my definition

I’m a 90’s kid regardless

of when my memories started to form 🙂

  1. I was born in 1994. I have memories from when I was three in 1997 up to 1999. I include 2000 because it actually was the last part of the 20th century before the 21st.

Either sorts I still remember 2001 being where any 90s baby/kid catches up with what we were being shown in the 90s. It was not bad in 2000 and 2001 but doesn’t hold up to 1997 nor 1999.

And this is just my view. Doesn’t mean I’m right at all. I just remember how my experience was at that time. Not like the 80s babies who dog about it and snub it up to us 90s babies faces and dismissed us as 2000s products.

  2. I was born in 1993, and while I do have some memories of the kid culture and vibe from the tail end of the 90s, most of what I remember from the 90s was what was left over of that decade. I honestly feel like more of a 2000s kid.
