Brigadoon
Brigadoon is a musical I directed/choreographed for my Thesis project.
Coming out of covid, we’ve sought community and some sense of certainty in an ever-changing world. Brigadoon shows us a community that seeks to escape the pain of the world, plagued by war, not so unlike what we ourselves seek. With the arrival of two Americans from the 1940’s the town learns an important lesson. Veterans from World War II, they break through the magical barrier meant to protect the town of Brigadoon from the outside world, leaving us wondering whether or not the suffering of this world is escapable.
Brigadoon leaves us with the question as to what makes life worth living. It is my sincere hope that this story will help you discover some of the joy and beauty in life that calls us higher and challenges us to live in the present moment, leaving the pain of the past behind and pushing away the fear of the future.
