The Asian American Reading Group is a reading group of graduate students and faculty at Penn State University Park. AARG is open to anyone interested in reading and discussing Asian American and Asian diasporic art, literature, and criticism, including their overlaps with fields like contemporary American literature, critical race and ethnic studies, and conversations around genre.

AARG meetings have been used to explore texts related to the members’ research and personal interests or drawn from their comprehensive exam reading lists. Previous meetings have included themes like speculative fiction, transpacific studies, disability studies and mental health, the Black Lives Matter movement and interethnic solidarity.
