Peter Parker & Gwen Stacy, the greatest romance in Spider Verse (Extra Credit)

The Amazing Spider-Man | Amazing spiderman, Andrew garfield spiderman, Spiderman

One recurring theme in the Spider-Man films is that Peter Parker’s quest revolves around finding true love. He may have had strong character traits like wanting to be the best superhero and protecting his friends and family, but he will always have a relationship with someone special. It caused Peter, played by Tobey Maguire, and the characters from The Amazing Spider-Man movies and the Marvel Cinematic Universe to prioritize these women.

Even though Peter and MJ’s recent romance in the MCU is endearing, it never fully developed. Before Far From Home examined how MJ learned about his identity, they were buddies who were constantly throwing shots with one another in Homecoming. Aside from a few kisses, they didn’t really feel like soulmates; rather, they were more like friends who started something before having it broken off after No Way Home ended.

With three films, Tobey Maguire’s Spidey and Kirsten Dunst’s MJ had plenty of time to develop from high school sweethearts to working grownups. Nevertheless, they tended to gravitate toward other people, with Pete having an affair with Gwen Stacy (played by Bryce Dallas Howard) and MJ falling for Harry and John Jameson. They developed a sense of care for one another without feeling actively loved as a result of this. Additionally, the will-they, won’t-they plot line was tiresome because the couple never really seemed like two star-crossed lovers destined to be together.

However, these issues didn’t exist in the Marc Webb remake starring Andrew Garfield as Peter and Emma Stone as Gwen. The best on-screen relationship the character has ever had was set up during their time falling in love throughout The Amazing Spider-Man. Although it was a little obvious, it became clear in two movies why Gwen was the center of Peter’s universe. Their relationship didn’t seem melodramatic to him; instead, it made him want to stop the world and ignore the drama. They even faced more complex obstacles than in the prior films, including Peter’s absence following the death of Gwen’s father and Gwen’s uncertainty about her future as a result of the trouble that Spider-Man caused.

Despite the problems, they remained firmly in each other’s orbit. Sadly, Gwen passed away when Peter attempted to stop her from falling after being attacked by Harry/Green Goblin, but even after her death, she had a beneficial influence on him. While he did allow darkness to enter, he eventually found that he had to continue living in her memory. In No Way Home, Garfield’s Peter was able to help the other wall-crawlers mend the divide and remind himself that Gwen would have wanted him to heal as a result of all he had gone through with her. Despite Gwen’s passing, she makes Peter even more of a hero in the hereafter since they share an eternal love that endures forever.

This movie was 10 times better than the love interests in the previous films because of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone’s incredible chemistry. My all-time favorite film is without a doubt this one.
