DEVOTION – Summrs

**The songs mentioned can be found at the bottom of the review!**

Summrs | SpotifyI always loved writing these little blurbs before I got into the song categories because I could say whatever I wanted and no one could question it, but I guess that goes for every blog post. With that being said, I cannot believe I’ve been writing these weekly blogs for two semesters, and this is the final one. You guys have read my shit and listened to my awful opinions on random music I find or am told about and I can’t believe it’s been so long. It’s been a great year :). I’m not gonna lie, had I known I was going to have to write passion blogs this semester too, I would have saved my Spotify Wrapped for the last one as the finale. Unfortunately, I did that as last semester’s finale, and I forgot to plan something for this semester’s, so it’s gonna be another random album. To be completely honest, I have no idea how I found this artist, but I picked this album because of how cool the cover looked. Enjoy the last of my song ratings!

Best Overall: 007 – I’ve never seen a James Bond movie, but I feel like James Bond could get hyped to this song, especially on his way to fight crimes (is that what he does? idfk.). Everything flows and it gets even better when Summrs rhymes random words with each other. The beginning makes you feel like you’re hyping yourself up before you get out of the car to go do something productive or fun, which I think 007 would appreciate too.

Most Underrated: The Wait – I’m always hesitant to listen to songs with two or more features because the vocals sometimes don’t fit well with other, but I don’t mind this song. It might be because of the autotune, but everyone has their individual parts, while all contributing the same sound to the song, which I can appreciate. 10 Summrs ideas | kankan, rappers, rapper

Most Popular: Cannot Be Me – I can definitely see why this song is the most popular. It isn’t too out there, but it’s unique enough to distinguish Summrs from other artists who are attempting to do this new kind of rap. The lyrics are catchy, the beat is a head-bumper, it’s a great song.

Honorable Mention: Translucent – You know when words just make sense? Like “bubbles,” for example, make sense. They’re bubbly. I don’t know if that makes any sense, but this song fits the name too well and I think one of my favorite things is when artists name their songs perfectly. The music in the background makes you feel like you’re floating and as glassy as the name would imply; a very suiting name for the song.

Summrs Archived: albums, songs, playlists | Listen on DeezerLeast Best: Warzone – Okay there is way too much going on. Normally, I can still isolate the individual aspects and parts of the music, but I’m so confused. My brain is trying to focus on one part of the song and it’s scrambled. It also feels like the lyrics are off beat by a smidge, which also always bothers me because it doesn’t fit together well.
