On October 12th, Mia presented her independent research project at NYAM’s 2023 advocacy in medicine virtual conference focused on LGBTQ+ health. Her project focused on factors that may impact the timing of receipt for prescription for testosterone or estrogen-based interventions for transgender adolescents and young adults that did not receive a prescription at an initial medical appointment. Her findings indicate that patients seen virtually had a significantly longer time in care prior to receipt of prescription. She has submitted a manuscript based on this project and awaits review.
