CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Penn State Abington Art Gallery requests creative work by Penn State Abington students for a gallery event in conjunction with Women by Women, an exhibition featuring the work of Ibero-American female artists.
Creative works should reflect themes of personal identity. Of particular interest are works that share the origins of an individual or their family. This theme can be widely interpreted. And voices from all backgrounds and ethnicities are welcome. For example, Where is your family from? What did they do? How did you get where you are now? Has something happened in your life that has changed you or has helped you to define yourself? Do you have a coming out story you’d like to share? Do you have a different kind of origin story? We want to hear from everyone!
Creative works may include but are not limited to visual art including drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking. Other works may include creative writing, musical performances, spoken word performances, etc.
Works may be submitted in person to the Art Gallery during gallery hours.
The deadline for submission is Thursday, October 24th by 6:00pm.
Submissions may be but are not limited to physical works of art, hand-written poetry, printed short stories, audio recordings, etc.
All works will be accepted. Should more works be received than can be exhibited at the October 28th event, a selection of works will be presented. Any works not presented on October 28th will be exhibited at a later event TBD.
